About me
I am a freelance illustrator from Switzerland and graduate of Edinburgh College of Art where I am currently based.
Narrative and storytelling are core aspects of my work, as well a nostalgia and history. I am also very interested in illustrating children’s picturebooks as I enjoy telling stories with and through my illustrations. Zine making is an important feature of my practice as it allows me to explore very niche subjects, such as historical anecdotes, lost monuments and aesthetics of the past..
My process of creating my works involves mixing different technique such as India ink, gouache, colour pencils and digital medias. I am influenced by naive artists of the 20th century such as Henri Rousseau for his fantasy depictions of nature, Michel Delacroix for his detailed urban scenes, Grandma Moses and Albert Manser for their intricate representation of idealised countryside landscapes. More contemporary influences include Emily Sutton, Alice Pattullo and Jill Calder for their respective use of themes, colours and digital collage.
